Recurring burning and/or crampy abdominal pain (without another known cause), gassiness (not from dietary causes), and/or occasional nausea
The above symptoms improve with H1 receptor blockers (e.g. Zyrtec/cimetidine, Allegra/fexofenadine, Benadryl/diphenhydramine, etc)
Symptoms occur in episodes
The period of times without symptoms are becoming shorter in duration
Periodic burning and/or choking chest pain attacks (often experienced as life-threatening). EKG findings show no identifiable cause.
Occasional or continuing pain in the urinary bladder and/or pelvic area, with painful need to void and/or blood in urine. No bacteria found in tests.
Occasional burning, pins/needles, numbness, and/or pain which is not relieved by pain reducer treatments
Sudden attack of migraine-like headaches
Progressive memory loss (i.e. remembering names/words), and/or concentration difficulty and/or sleep disturbances
Occasional >2 of following: ringing in ears (tinnitus), eye discomfort (dry/red/stinging eyes), runny nose, nasal congestion, and/or dry mouth
Periodic symptoms of asthma (with or without diagnosis), clearing throat, tickling in throat/lungs, and/or shortness of breath with routine tasks
Past history of frequent viral respiratory illnesses that often turn into bacterial infection
History of episodic itching without rash or skin inflammation from a known cause
During symptoms/episodes, itching and/or eczema occurs around the anus
Routine lab and imaging tests find no identifiable cause for fatigue
Routine lab and imaging tests find no identifiable cause for weight loss
Periodic fast heart rate and/or palpitations (feeling like the heart skips a beat)
Lack of sleep triggers symptoms
Not eating (i.e. fasting) for 24 hours triggers symptoms
Histamine containing foods (e.g. red wine, cheese, tuna and other seafood, fermented foods, etc) trigger symptoms
Year or date of above symptoms identifiable (because they started near the time of being ill with an infection)
Episodic flushing of the skin (redness, feeling of heat)
Episodic hot flashes and/or sweating (independent of temperature of surrounding environment)
Episodic high and/or low blood pressure with dizziness that lead to fainting
History of brown-red rashes/eruptions (without known cause)
History of sudden swelling (cause unknown) of the lips, eyelids, or under the eyes
